A Bit About Me...

Updated: Apr 8, 2022

I hate introductions. I really, really hate them. For me, they're as enjoyable as traffic jams, root canals, and birthdays after 40. However, I was informed that 1) you good folks would like to know something about me, and 2) I didn't have a choice. So, here goes:

My name is Kim. I’m a Christian and a writer. Not everything I write falls into the Christian category, but my faith influences everything I do. Fiction is what I love. I've published a few short stories and hope to finish a novel in the near future. When asked to contribute to America’s Tribune, I hesitated. I wasn’t sure I had anything worth sharing, and the world has more than enough opinions to go around. But, after talking with a few friends, I agreed to give it a shot.

My Views

All writing comes with a bias; let’s get that out of the way upfront. My politics are neither left nor right. I believe liberty is essential, and neither major party offers anything close to the vision of freedom espoused by our founders. Americans are locked into a duopoly that strips us of our rights, responsibilities, and dignity as human beings. The system is fundamentally broken, and I don’t consider it fixable—certainly not at the ballot box.

You must have the intellectual honesty to question—and, when necessary, rebel against—the vision of the world you’ve been sold by your party. Groupthink is limiting and dangerous. If the last few years haven’t opened your eyes to that fact, my opinion isn’t likely to sway you anyway. You need courage and fortitude to swim against the current. Unfortunately, most people lack those qualities which are necessary to effect real change.

I’ve chosen to live a life that reflects who I am and what I believe. It’s not for everyone, and I don’t claim to have any special abilities beyond the faith that carries me through and some knack for stringing words together. Both are gifts from God. He gets the credit when I get it right; I’ll take the blame when I make a mess.

What You See Is What You Get

I promise to be authentic, but that’s about it. I’m not going to limit myself to writing about current events, Christian topics, or anything specific. Instead, you’ll get whatever is on my heart on a particular day. Hopefully, my words will encourage, entertain, or enlighten you. I may share details of my personal struggles or examine a topic that concerns me. If you like what I have to say, give it a share. If not, let me know why in the comment section.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome. Here's my first article, "Sole Searching," in case you missed it.
